Goertz - the WFC Research Chair Responsible for Flawed Immunity Hit Piece Praised & Given Award from NCMIC Malpractice Company

Individuals, Organizations and Companies Involved are Celebrating Their Complicity in One of the Biggest Scandals in Chiropractic History

Christine Goertz DC, Ph.D, who is the Chair of the World Federation of Chiropractic's (WFC) Research Committee, was just awarded the Jerome McAndrews Research Pioneer Award by the National Chiropractic Mutual Insurance Company (NCMIC).

Goertz leads the Committee that created the highly flawed immunity hit piece put out by the WFC at the start of the COVID crisis that sought to muzzle chiropractors from talking to their patients and the public about the role of chiropractic in immunity.

The document was so flawed that tens of thousands of chiropractors rejected it through their national, international and state organizations as well as through dozens of chiropractic groups and corporations doing business in chiropractic.

In addition, at least 17 of the WFC's corporate partners, malpractice companies, nutritional support companies, equipment manufacturers and schools have pulled their sponsorships of the WFC (CLICK HERE for that story) and all but three members of the disgraced Research Committee abruptly resigned from the Committee claiming they ". . . no longer feel it is possible to function as independent academics".

Those remaining on the controversial Committee as of this writing include: Christine Goertz DC, Ph.D, who NCMIC malpractice insurance company is praising, along with fellow Subluxation Deniers Mitch Haas DC and Scott Haldeman DC, MD, Ph.D. All three have been outspoken critics of the management of vertebral subluxation spanning decades.

Goertz is in the process of reconstituting the committee along with Haas and Haldeman.

Despite the outright rejection of Goertz's document by the profession it was endorsed by the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) and Parker University in Texas. Using the requisite "weasel words" often used by the Deniers, Parker's Director of Research Katie Pohlman DC, Ph.D falsely claimed there was "no credible evidence" of a clinical role for chiropractic in supporting immune function. Parker's President William Morgan threatened chiropractors that they would be "under the hand of the law" if they made such statements.

The ACA made similar statements.

The Texas Board of Chiropractic, where Parker is located, did exactly what Morgan threatened and adopted the WFC's flawed hit piece and sent emails to chiropractors licensed in Texas extending the threat.

Numerous other state regulatory boards followed suit using Goertz and her Committee's falsehoods to go after chiropractors for exercising their right to free speech and interfering with the autonomy of the doctor patient relationship.

As the board complaints filed against chiropractors wind their way through the regulatory red tape in several states it has become increasingly obvious that the complaints filed, and those pursued, were part of an organized effort to silence chiropractors from telling the public the truth. This effort included state boards, individual members of state boards and state organizations aligned with the American Chiropractic Association and the World Federation of Chiropractic as well as individuals like Goertz.

Supporters of the WFC and ACA in Canada and the United States actually trained an army of anti-subluxation zealots how to use the WFC document to troll chiropractors websites and social media and file complaints against any mentioning immunity. They bragged they had trained at least 140 chiropractors to file such complaints.

Expert review of complaints filed in several states along with review of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests demonstrate numerous instances of inappropriate actions. These include the filing of numerous anonymous complaints, reliance on the flawed hit piece put out by the WFC and endorsed by the ACA, ACA State Affiliates and Parker University, and inappropriate interpretation of the literature to fit a false narrative that chiropractic has no benefit on immune function - among many others.

These active market players sitting on chiropractic licensing boards, who have the authority to discipline and sanction their competitors, endorsed and/or adopted this flawed policy that appears to restrain the trade of their competitors. They also did this without any formal process, hearing or input from their competition in the marketplace or from the public. They also did this without active oversight of the state.

The award was given to Goertz during the Florida Chiropractic Association's (FCA) recent meeting. The FCA is a long time supporter of the ACA and NCMIC is a major sponsor.
