Curtis Fedorchuk DC Awarded Researcher of the Year
The Foundation for Vertebral Subluxation has awarded Curtis Fedorchuk DC with the Researcher of the Year Award for his outstanding work and tireless dedication to research on the vertebral subluxation.
Dr. Fedorchuk is a practitioner-scientist and has a focused practice on spinal care and wellness, and has a broad program of practice based research. Along with his research team, his current projects include several exploring links between subluxation, abnormal posture, x-ray, SEMG, HRV, brain imaging, thermal scanning, muscle strength, and patient quality of life.
“Curtis is the most productive researcher in chiropractic that I know of” stated Matthew McCoy DC, MPH, a public health researcher and Vice President of the Foundation. “It is difficult to keep up with him.”
A chiropractic advocate since age 10, Fedorchuk is originally from Canada and has been practicing in North Georgia for over 15 years. He earned his Green Card by being categorized by United States Immigration with an EB-1 Visa: Alien With Extraordinary Ability. He is an Advanced Certified Chiropractic Biophysics practitioner who uses computerized digital x-ray analysis, computerized EMG, HRV, thermal, muscle strength and computer generated health outcomes assessments to better analyze and help improve his patients’ quality of life.
While he is doing that he is conducting impactful studies. His most recent publication threw the whole notion of “loss of cervical curvature is due to spasm” out the window. The paper is the first to dispel this myth. The study getting his most attention right now is one exploring the relationship between type 1 diabetes and vertebral subluxation. Preliminary results have been positive and were presented at Sherman College IRAPS in 2016. Another exciting study involves looking at telomere length pre and post chiropractic. Fedorchuk is not doing all of this alone - he leads a research team including two Research Fellows through the Foundation.
Dr. Fedorchuk has been a chiropractic advocate since age 10 and is a contributing author to research journals along with service on Editorial Boards including: Pediatric, Maternal, Family Health, Chiropractic. He is the Chair for Research for the Georgia Chiropractic Council. He was an adjunct professor at LIFE University for over 5 years where he taught CBP and research and he also teaches Continuing Education throughout the profession.
Dr. Fedorchuk has numerous published research in peer reviewed journals, and has collaborated in clinical investigations with institutions such as Life University, Sherman College, Florida Atlantic University and Emory University. He was selected for platform presentation in Gold Coast Australia by the International Chiropractors Association Council on Pediatrics, and later won 2nd place at the 2008 International Research and Philosophy Conference (IRAPS) for Best Science paper. In September of 2009 and again in 2013 he was awarded CBP Researcher of the Year. In November of 2009 he was awarded CLA Researcher of the Year. Recently in 2015, he was awarded Chiropractor of the Year by CBP Non Profit.
“We hope this award further cements Dr. Fedorchuk’s role as a leading clinical researcher in chiropractic” remarked Christopher Kent DC, JD, Vice President of the Foundation and Professor at Sherman College.
